Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, the issue of surface water quality in Ukraine, which is potentially used to meet the drinking, household and other needs of the population, has become of vital importance. The project purpose is to set of studies for ecological assessment of the river water by the school chemical laboratory. The relevance of the project lies in the sharing of this experience for students’ scientific research activities or for use in STEM education. The proposed set of studies is very important in the context of martial law, as it allows for operational monitoring of surface water quality.

Research project “Portable device for water purification in emergencies” is dedicated to the issue of ensuring access to safe drinking water in emergency situations. In the conditions of war, the quality of drinking water becomes extremely important. Completely or partially destroyed water infrastructure facilities, soil and water resources contaminated with hazardous substances due to numerous rocket attacks and damaged industrial facilities – all this deprives people of access to safe drinking water.

Young researchers has developed a portable water treatment device that, unlike mobile complex surface or groundwater treatment systems, does not require an uninterrupted power supply. The use of such a device with a “carbon block” type filter element in extreme conditions allows to ensure the basic needs of the people in safe drinking water.

Wastewater is one of the main sources of pollution of aquatic ecosystems and the cause of disruption of self-regulation and self-restoration of water bodies. Therefore, the issue of improving wastewater treatment system is relevant for most settlements of Ukraine.

As a result of the study of the operation of treatment plants, a number of factors were identified: actual capacity of treatment plants is twice less than the designed one, it causes secondary water pollution; the supply of wastewater to treatment plants is carried out unevenly during the day and year, it negatively affects the quality of wastewater treatment from nutrients. Technical solutions for stabilization of urban wastewater treatment processes in order to reduce the content of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds in treated wastewater are proposed.

AI Fresh Station (AIFS) – is an artificial intelligence home kitchen appliance that grows organic food all year round. It can save water, help keep soil clean and eliminate waste and CO2 emissions. AIFS is equipped by computer vision + neural system that can detect different types of plants diseases. The station also has software for monitoring the status of cultivation and receipt’s date of the crop. AIFS is modular and has individual growth control, which makes it possible to receive the crop not all at the same time, but according to a schedule. AIFS saves water because it irrigates certain plants with certain doses, this also makes it possible for an individual approach to each plant.

Tsunami is one of the most dangerous and destructive phenomena of nature on Earth. Effective tsunami protection system so far does not exist. The author of the project offers the original idea of reducing the devastating effects of tsunami on coastal megacities and other important objects. Based on the mathematical modeling of bubble behavior in the zone of excessive pressure of the tsunami wave, calculations and experiments, a principal scheme of the protection system is proposed that can effectively protect the coastal area from the destructive impact of the tsunami. It’s easy to fabricate and install a tsunami protection system – all the necessary materials and technologies already exist.

In this project a wave power generator has been developed as a reliable and autonomous alternative to the existing ones.
