Valeriia Tyshchenko

Student: Kherson physical and technical lyceum of Kherson city council affiliated to Kherson National Technical University and Dnipropetrovsk National University

Hello from Ukraine! My name is Valeriia and I’m very fond of alternative energy. The goal of my project is to create a wave power generator that is much cheaper and simplier than the existing ones and can be an eco-friendly alternative to hydropower plants.

Almost all my close relatives are engineers, I study at Kherson physical and technical lyceum, so science and engineering are integral parts of my life. I’ve taken part in many olympiads and competitions in these spheres. But I also adore poetry, literature and drawing. My works were published in Ukrainian almanacs, magazines, newspapers. And I’m quite sure that Lyrics and Physics are the perfect combination 😉

Tell us what the water concern in your country is!

Ukraine is washed by Black and Azov seas, also one of the major rivers of Europe, the Dnipro, flows through its territory. Nevertheless my country belongs to one of the low-water regions of Europe. So one of our main goals is to save our waters, their cleanness and water biosystems.
