Sofia Wright

Student: Liverpool Life Sciences UTC

Hi! I’m Sofia Wright and currently I live in North West England. I’m 15 years old and I study biology, psychology and English language. Some of my hobbies include horse riding, competitive swimming and skiing. I was born in London, but I’ve lived in Abu Dhabi for 10 years which has broadened my perspective on sustainable solutions globally, and contributed towards a fervor for finding scientific solutions to these issues which can make the world a safer and cleaner place for everyone.

My project

Tell us what the water concern in your country is!

Statistics show that China is the global largest producer and distributor of textiles which ( as of 2019) is estimated at 267 billion dollars and releases micro plastic fibres, heavy metals and other harmful environmental pollutants into water bodies.

This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:

My product is designed to combat water pollution from household waste water Due to LIC ' s being the largest source of these, industrial by-products such as charcoal can be used which are easily accessible.
