Hello! My name is Santeri Langdon, and I come from Finland. I have lived in Finland for the entirety of my life, however, I am a duel citizen of Finland and Britain. I studied in the IB diploma program in Helsingin Suomalainen Yhteiskoulu, and I’ve always been extremely interested in the natural sciences. I am now serving in the Finnish military, which is mandatory for all males above the age of 18 in Finland. I am eager to learn new things and to see what ideas young people around the globe have to offer!
Tell us what the water concern in your country is!In Finland there is not a huge concern concerning available drinking water. Therefore, in Finland we concentrate a lot on cleaning our waste water, so that we minimize the harm we cause to the environment, especially the Baltic Sea.
From where comes your interest in water?Due to global warming the amount of freshwater available is set to decrease, which will lead to water crises, which have already begun as can be seen in Cape Town, South Africa. In Finland the shortage of water will most likely not take place in the near future, due to our vast network of freshwater lakes, and therefore we should concentrate on helping other countries with their problems concerning the lack of drinkable water.
