Student: MARA JUNIOR SCIENCE COLLEGE JOHOR BAHRU

Who am I?

Hi, my name is Adam. I’m 16 years old. I live in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. As a student at Mara Junior Science College, I love being surrounded by like-minded peers who share a passion for science and mathematics. This can foster a sense of camaraderie and encourage healthy competition and be trustworthy for my school.

I am passionate about experimenting to ensure that quality and safety of water are always maintained for the betterment of the community. In my spare time, I enjoy conducting experiments to improve the quality of products and services. Besides that, Writing has become an integral part of my life, offering solace, inspiration, and a means to connect with both myself and the world around me.

Tell us what the water concern in your country is!

In March of 2019, a toxic sludge spill in the Kim Kim River released dangerous chemical fumes, affecting many individuals including children, the elderly, and students. Many were hospitalized due to the incident. To prevent such an issue from happening again, we must take steps to safeguard against toxic spills.

This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:

Introducing the H2Oasis System, an invention to revolutionize water purification. It uses activated carbon derived from date seeds to separate heavy elements in a sustainable and cost-effective manner. Our research on this innovation earned us a silver award at the 3rd TIEC (International Tinker Innovation & Entrepreneurship Challenge).
