Kishoth Navaretnarajah is a Community Leader from the Land of Singing Fish, Batticaloa in Sri Lanka. As a passionate independent novel researcher, he co-founded DreamSpace Academy – a community innovation center to tackle authentic local socio-economic and environmental challenges using project and challenge-based learning. Kishoth is coming from the background of Information Technology, Project Management and Entrepreneurship creates mechanisms to foster social change and influence future development through Social Innovation. Tell us what the water concern in your country is!The primary problems concerning water resources in Sri Lanka are the depletion and degradation of the resource caused by various anthropogenic activities. Thus, Sri Lanka at a stage to examine the most significant water and wastewater related issues and their controlling mechanisms.
From where comes your interest in water?Participating in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize was life-changing! It got me interested in water research. Coming from a challenging village is water scarcity finding alternative solutions to overcome the challenge was a thirst that made me relate my bonding with water.
This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:Building a Maker Community at every level in a Society brings a more responsible and sustainable future!
