I am Annegrit Hübner, 18 years old and I live in a small town nearby Berlin, Germany.
I started working on the competition ”Jugend Forscht” when I was 11 years old and I have still the same group members I work with.
Over the years we worked on many different topics like. Our current subject ”Microplastics in sewage effluent” is in my opinion our most interesting and important project so far, because it is an international issue we all have to deal with anytime soon.
Besides my ”Jugend Forscht” work I`m very political interested and I volunteer at our local museum and in my church.
Tell us what the water concern in your country is!The worst problems are the unseen particle in our sewage, for example mikroplastic and residues of medicines. In our state is especially the pollution of iron a difficulty.
From where comes your interest in water?I am already interested in water since a young age. I was shocked how the water ressources worldwide get polluted by humans more and more. Another important factor is the soiling by human industries like plastic in ozeans. This show me, we have to react and to work against this horrible process.
This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:A well thought resource management. For example developing countries: They need help as fast as possible, like medicines or food. This is packed up in plastic. When the voluunters and aid organizations leave the country, what happens with the plastic bags? Because they do not know better they dispose their plastic waste in the sea. But also the industrialized countries destroy our waterbody with the throwaway culture.
