Hello! My name is Andrea. I am 17 years old. I am Ecuadorian. I live in Sangolquí, a city with a lot of biodiversity, tourist and cultural attractions. I am in my last year of high school. I like reading, art performing, also I love to dance. One of my main passions is to participate in the creation of social projects which benefit the planet and communities.
Tell us what the water concern in your country is!My country is one of the 17 megadiverse countries of the world; however our rivers are very polluted from their source. Moreover, there is a lack of drinking water in different provinces, especially on the Coast region. There is also a high percentage of pollution in the sea, due to the waste’s discharge of the fishing production.
This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:After observing the problems in the rivers that cross our country, the implementation of an artisanal system for capturing residual waste denominated ecobarda has been proposed, which retains the floating solid waste that go down through the rivers and prevent them from ending up in the oceans.
